Martin Kragh is head of the Russia and Eurasia Programme at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs, and associate professor at the Institute for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Uppsala University. He defended his PhD at the Stockholm School of Economics in 2009, and specializes in the economic and political development of Russia and the EU's eastern neighbourhood. His research interests include economic history, political economy, foreign affairs and Nordic-Russian relations.
Kragh is also a member of the board of directors of the Sverker Åström Foundation, which supports young Russians who wish to visit Sweden, and he was previously a member of the board of directors of Transparency International Sweden (2012-2016).
He currently serves as research director at the Uppsala Forum for Democracy, Peace and Justice (2014-) at Uppsala University.
